If you are SC-23 this week, you may have noticed that we are holding an Interactive and Urgent HPC BoF on Wednesday from 12:15-1:15pm in Room 607 of the Convention Center: https://sc23.conference-program.com/presentation/?id=bof229&sess=sess390.

Over the past few months, a number of us have been working to complete a draft of the interactive and urgent HPC position paper that we started at ISC-22 about a year and a half ago. We have an opportunity to submit the position paper to IEEE Computing in Science and Engineering (CiSE - https://www.computer.org/csdl/magazine/cs) for a special edition on the future of computing by the end of the month. We will be using the BoF to present and discuss the content of the draft position paper, and solicit feedback for the final submission. The intent of this position paper is to represent us, the interactive and urgent HPC community, explaining the state of the practice and presenting challenges and opportunities for interactive and urgent HPC research.
